FOR YAMAHA
FOR YAMAHA
Many years have passed yet age hasn’t told
He’s been a member from the days of old
And these days I can tell he’s still in the fold
Of music and its likes he stands tall and bold
His demeanour might suggest a perfect calm
Until you see the wonders attached to his palms
Ten fingers that will never beg for any form of alms
And when they strike keys, music soothes like a balm
A Father to a cute family and priest to a budding church
In this generation, not many clans can boast men of such
He is a friend, colleague and husband to a great wife
I wish today that we celebrate not his birthdate but life
We call him as we have always done, Yamaha
for his maestro with the white and black keys of music
He is a thorough breed, a stable pillar and a special clown
I wish you life melodies than your fingers have ever played.
Happy Birthday, Gideon Ugbenyo
