Still On Course
The journey is a difficult one
Along this path straight and narrow
My shoes are old and worn
And the river gets no shallow
More difficult would’ve been my plight
If found on another path less straight
Seeing an only way, truth and life
Nothing could this plan perfect, than faith
Yet I wouldn’t say it’s all bliss
As I bear this burden though just
I count all my ‘losses and misses’
And see that I’ve not one bit lost
Though haunted by basic needs
And tempted sore to vain
His strength has been my feed
And joy always concludes my pains
Posterity will hear, even if I be dead
That one lived a life, righteous
In the same world that’s of choice to be led
My prints will in time’s sand impress ~
I would be the ‘fool’ I’ve long played
And through this fog I’ll walk another mile
For that day will rise a sun in no delay
When upon my head, a crown
Upon my lips a smile
2Timothy 4:7-8 “7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.“ (NIV)
