Stand Sure
Let him that thinks he stands
Look not behind or afore
Neither to his past failures
Nor the unseen future
Buried in the business of today
His duty is to be sure he’s true
Upon an unshakeable podium of rebirth
Grounded in a hope that’s not earthly
Any feign that he builds
Would in time fortify and stand
Bearing him through tunnels
That exits at terminals of doom station
One before has gone ahead in assurance
In the quest for a room to prepare
To welcome the redeemed son
To the place his Father would call his
Anyone’s assurance that blanks
At the talk of the apocalypse
Or a mere thought of the end
Stands in the queue of the undecided ~
But beyond bounds of familiarity
Complete intimacy with Jesus to have
Torn from the claws of mortal weakness
Calm in an inheritance that’s thine
Is our Father’s earnest thought for us
He’s room and all ready to receive
To the grandeur* of a heavenly grace
All who bend through here and that day stand!
Ephesians 6:13-14 “13 For this reason take [to you] the panoply of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having accomplished all things, to stand.14 Stand therefore, having girt about your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,” (DARBY)
