Staff Of Authority
Arise O Christian
Song of war, cry of battle heralding
Arise and fight
For death looms
The enemy stretches forth
The neck of the godly to sever
When no opposition he meets
His deeds are prime and sound
Were you called and given a sword
To adorn the graves of Martyrs?
Or gird your loin in fine array
And sheath the piece that is your weapon?
If our fathers played losers
Are we to be on edge?
For the sour grapes we ate not?
Whose battle are we to fight?
Ordained Priest of a Royal Hood
A nation, holy as to God
Peculiar by clan, tribe and person
What authority can you define as yours? ~
If pride of race would not serve reason
For the sake of shame and stands of truth
For proof of words and show of faith
Let’s bend our knees in prayerful attack
The heathen is our bread
And all powers assigned to Christ is ours
We have our place of authority
O Christian! Prove that your priestly staff
Is made of finest cedar not fancy reed!
1Tim.6:11-12 “11 But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.” (NIV)
