Dear Chest

We, made in the image of The Blessed

Are configured for the best

But being hoodwinked* like the rest

We still sit in places of contest

What could define the limits we see?

And attest to the boundaries that besiege?

When we have chosen nothing more to believe

Than the enticing pleasures this world can give

The heavens lament our plight

Who having turned from the path of light

Have wholly given our foe, our birthright

Condescending so low, even without a fight

We are heavily imbued with treasures

Yet we when tussles ensue for little measures

Are found at the front lanes with bleeding fissures

Have become mere seekers of pleasure!

One gave His all

Forsook all heavenly splendour

Our sins before our birth He bore

Now He’s advocate for the thumb gone sore    ~

What scenario will fit best

When of all our merry and feast

He with His utmost promise to bless

Comes and meets empty his full chest*?

1Tim 6:9-10 9 But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and are caught in the trap of many foolish and harmful desires, which pull them down to ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a source of all kinds of evil. Some have been so eager to have it that they have wandered away from the faith and have broken their hearts with many sorrows.”(GNT)
