The Potter’s Blame?
On the quest to mold
We all have borne ourselves here
Carved in by torments we know
Only too well to tell another
Arriving at the Potter’s porch
Loud wailing, silent sobs
Expressing our burdens as we know how
The Potter is not more moved than He is
Awaiting our call
We watch others’ burdens flee
Earnestly wishing to be next
As the Potter’s wheel spins on
When our time is come
We anticipate a relief, a freedom
The wheel spins and spins to a stop
Alas! We are the same that came
We turn to blame the Potter
But the cause lies in our person
How came we to the Potter?
As wet clay or porcelain*
James 4:5-7 “Don’t think that there is no truth in the scripture that says, “The spirit that God placed in us is filled with fierce desires.”[a] 6 But the grace that God gives is even stronger. As the scripture says, “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
7 So then, submit yourselves to God. Resist the Devil, and he will run away from you.” (GNT)
