Rumours
The strong have fallen by the wayside
The burdened, afflicted a measure more
Even the righteous are stung as well
All because a man would speak
Wished he had spoken what he knew
Telling tales the way they are
Adding not a clause of falsehood
Even as he longed to speak
Could a man for what to say
Bear the lies of another’s lips
Telling it as though he were sure
Of every word he chose to speak?
Many saints are snared by this
Forgetting what the Scriptures say
An account we all will give
Of all the words we dare to speak
When a word gets to you
And you know not the truth it bears
You should will to and stop its course
Just be silent and do not speak!
Proverbs 6:16-17 “16 The Lord hates these seven things:17eyes that show pride, tongues that tell lies, hands that kill innocent people, (ERV)

Thanks for this post. This has been a personal challenge recently! It’s true many Christians fall a prey to rumours.
Each time there is a tendency to say anything let’s ask ourselves what’s the essence of such speech or discussion? Will it edify the listener?

Holding the tongue is more of a virtue than a habit and those that do hold theirs are deemed wise. Thanks for stopping by, please do visit regularly and share too. Apologies for the late reply
