One Day at a Time
Life can advance no more
Than the pace it moves
The hurry we initiate and keep
Cannot condition life to our terms
Life counts moment by moment
Minutes to hours, days to weeks
No more or less that it is
Why bear the pain of worry?
Let tomorrow’s problem be with tomorrow
Let the sleeping dogs of yesterday lie
Sufficient for today is its evil
And your best is – to be your best today
The setback we see today
Will be called experience tomorrow
And the effort you invest now
Both will lay the future’s foundation
Wisdom calls to invest your single coin
For though the future be known to you
Twist that may come along, you know not
And the best of your efforts is
To live to the fullest, one day at a time.
Matt. 6:33-34 “33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.“ (NIV)
